NorthInvest was established by Prof Adam Beaumont in 2014, to grow angel investment within the North for high growth tech start-ups, currently its networks have advised and attracted around 300 start-ups interested in investment and engaged actively with a 74 strong Angel network.

Recent long-term support by law firm Gordons LLP, recruitment innovator Amsource technology and forward-thinking accountants Garbutt + Elliott signify NorthInvest’s thriving position as a leading platform for tech investment in the North.

Founder, Adam Beaumont commented, “September was a fast paced month for NorthInvest – we’ve brought three new members on to our board – Antony, Sara and Eve. Bringing a huge amount of healthcare and policy expertise along with investment and ecosystem awareness. The whole team is energised to be working with them.  We’re looking to cast the net North-East and North-West for our next additions to our rapidly expanding team.”

Eve, a former director of NHS Digital, has joined us at a crucial point in our growth and brings insight into health-tech and a huge network of contacts to benefit our start-ups.

Eve added, “As a society we face big challenges, from supporting people to age well, to delivering clean growth and addressing cyber threats. We will only address these challenges by backing innovators and entrepreneurs and I am pleased to be playing a small part in that by bringing my experience to the NorthInvest Board.”

Antony Odell has been actively involved with our events and is keen to shape the way Angels connect and bring more business investment to the North.

Speaking of the appointment, Antony said, “I’m very excited to be part of the NorthInvest team and have already seen first-hand the significant depth of their network and the quality of the opportunities for business in the North particularly in med-tech.”

Sara Parker champions diversity in tech and advises women founders at our bi-monthly Women founders and investors event.

Commenting, Sara said, “I am delighted to be joining the NorthInvest board as the organisation goes from strength to strength.  I am a huge advocate for diversity; the breadth and depth of talent in this region really inspires me.  I look forward to working with the board to increase investment in tech start-ups, enabling this talent and the North to achieve its potential.”
