The board members
Dr Adam Beaumont
Dr Adam Beaumont first saw success in 1998 with the establishment of aql, a Leeds-based communications company. He was able to grow the company from a domain registry into a leading communications provider, hosting several datacentres across Leeds as well as providing SMS services for businesses and controlling millions of business telephone numbers.
Dr Richard Arning
Dr Richard Arning is Vice President of Business Development at SES Satellites, bringing further communications pedigree to the NorthInvest project. He has worked extensively to improve communications with the Isle of Man, and is keen to promote business links between it and the North of England.
Helen Oldham is Chief Publishing Officer for Johnston Press; multi-media publishers of news brands including the i newspaper, The Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Evening Post, The Scotsman, Portsmouth News, Sheffield Star and Lancashire Evening Post.
Professor John Fisher
John Fisher, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds has over 40 years’ experience in medical engineering research and technology development in academia, healthcare and industry. He is the past Director of the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (iMBE), one of the worlds’ leading medical engineering research centres.
Graham Pearce leads KPMG’s technology, media and telecommunications sector business in the North of England. He specialises in advising on M&A transactions and is also supported by a multi-disciplinary team of industry experts across tax, advisory and audit within KPMG.
The Chief Officer for Economy and Regeneration at Leeds City Council, Tom Bridges is an experienced professional in economic development, urban and regional policy, inward investment and business support, regeneration, planning policy and transport strategy. He is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
