…and is changing the face of finance in the process 💪
This time last year, British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association published research into 178 private equity firms across the UK to create a dataset on gender diversity in the sector. The result? Only 14 percent of investment professionals within private equity in the U.K. are female, and only 6 percent of them are classified as senior investment professionals.
Meanwhile at NorthInvest, female founders and investors form an ever-growing part of our community. In only our second year, 11% of our angel investors are female and now we’re helping to break the mould in fund management (only 2% of mutual funds are managed exclusively by women) with an all-female operations team.

Sticking to our values
When Professor Adam Beaumont founded NorthInvest alongsider Founding Board Director Helen Oldham, their top priority was to select a team of dedicated, experienced individuals who could offer the best possible standard of service and expertise to the NorthInvest community of investors and entrepreneurs, and who were genuinely passionate about seeing the North reach its full economic potential.
You can understand why we’re pretty chuffed that the people most suited to the job also happen to be very experienced women in business!
‘I am thrilled that NorthInvest is continuing its commitment to diversity and inclusion in the tech investment sector. We believe that by driving diversity in our board and portfolio of investors, we also attract more women-led startups for funding.’Founder of NorthInvest, Professor Adam Beaumont
Above all, NorthInvest strives to achieve a friendly yet straight-talking and inclusive approach to attract high quality investors from all backgrounds who are committed to helping the region achieve its potential as a global leader of tech and digital innovation.
