Investment Opportunities

We support start-ups that use technology as a core component of their business, whether developing an innovative medical device or using AI to streamline an everyday process. Due to the variety of specialists among our angel investor network, successful propositions fall loosely into five tech sub-sectors: Cyber, Digital Media, MedTech, Tech for Good, and FinTech. However we are open to investment opportunities beyond these sectors and work closely with research institutions across the Northern Powerhouse Region to support innovative emerging technologies.

Renephra MD, Idalia Dawidaska, explains the impact of the support from NorthInvest; “This round of funding enables Renephra to carry out pilot clinical studies which are an essential next step for the company in advancing this much needed and promising technology through to regulatory approvals.” This technology has the potential to transform the lives of patients by providing a safe, gentle and simple medical device that can be used at home. By being patient- administered, the technology will reduce the requirement of nurses to provide home visits as well as allowing the patient to feel a greater control of their treatment.
